Balance in its volumes, which form a suite that shapes the base and emerges as a backrest. Balance between its inclined and orthogonal planes, creating a simple, surprising geometry. Balance between two materials that merge to heighten their contrast: the coldness of cast stone and the warmth of wood. Finally, balance between its potential use as a seat with and without a backrest. The nearly 3 metre length of this product provides a comfortable, attractive surface for sitting, while its weight allows for unanchored installation. EQUAL was designed in 2009 by architect Joseph Gascón in conjunction with Escofet.

escofet equal product info.pdf

Cast stone and wood are combined in EQUAL, an element with a linear geometry and ample space for sitting and sharing that emerges from its proportion and balance.
